Our Technology
Bacterial quorum sensing
Bacteria use small molecules to speak to each other. At MiDx we have shown that P. aeruginosa used unique molecules called alkyl-quinolones to control its behavior which can be detected in multiple biofluids from people with cystic fibrosis and other chronic respiratory conditions e.g., Chronic obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP).

Development of lateral flow device
We have developed a lateral flow device to detect biomarkers for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. We are currently working with clinical partners to validate its use in the clinical setting. Our future aim is to develop for home use to support care in the community.
